I've been trying without success to install an update to Microsoft Security Essentials.



The update in question is Client Update Package KB2754296 and an error code 80070648 appears; the update fails to install.



Why is this and can it be fixed? Do I even require this update? Microsoft Security Essentials works perfectly well without it but it keeps appearing on Windows Update.



Can anyone from Microsoft help me resolve this issue? I'm not technically minded and very frustrated!
