Windows XP Home Edition SP2

Frustration excells!!!..."Error number: 0x8024400A" Message:

For two days now I have tried to get SP3 downloaded. I did a clean installation then, and tried a second time, no luck same result. I have done clean installs before without any SP problem.

I've gone through Microsoft hoops a number of times, Windows Update, the "Fixit" to no avail, and tried SP3 downoads, one of 300+ MB's ,another of 500+ and another of I believe was around 7-800 MB's, not to mention the various links, but just seem to be going aroung in circles with no solution. I've tried installing SP3 a number of times but after a while the computer quits the download and I have to start over with the same results.

I've read many of the [Error number: 0x8024400A] comments here but none of the suggestions seem to work for me so far. I don't know, maybe it's just me in my frustration after so many hours trying to get this darn thing to work and just need to be led step by step or by the hand at this point..It's enough to make one climb the walls!!!

In desperation and beyond frustration, I sure hope someone can help get me out of this drowning mess. Thanks for your suggestions... Herb
